Don't Go Far Off...

Annnd now, WHAT a poem by the great Pablo Neruda...!

Piercing in its desolation...and the direct & honest way it implores the LOVED one NOT to Leave one ALONE n Go....!!

Speechless!

Don't Go Far off. . .

Don't go far off, not even for a day, because --
because -- I don't know how to say it: a day is long
and I will be waiting for you, as in an empty station
when the trains are parked off somewhere else, asleep.

Don't leave me, even for an hour, because
then the little drops of anguish will all run together,
the smoke that roams looking for a home will drift
into me,
choking my lost heart.

Oh, may your silhouette never dissolve on the beach;
may your eyelids never flutter into the empty distance.

Don't leave me for a second, my dearest,
Because in that moment you'll have gone so far
I'll wander mazily over all the earth, asking,

"Will you come back? Will you leave me here, dying?"

I shut my eyes and...

A deeply romantic, brooding poem by Sylvia Plath. . .
Though it is written from the point of view of a girl, I feel it is equally applicable to anyone that experienced unrequited Love...!!...

Sometimes, we 'imagine' so much about sweet LOVE, but Reality turns out to be bitter...

We imagine a loving world, but then see that it is only governed by insensitivity, & what we purr-ceived to be Love, is only Conditional & superficial, and more of a business of calculations, profits & losses...!! :'(

Hmmm...read/feel on...!!

Mad Girl's Love Song. . .

I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead;
I lift my lids and all is born again.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

The stars go waltzing out in blue and red,

And arbitrary blackness gallops in:
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.

I dreamed that you bewitched me into bed

And sung me moon-struck, kissed me quite insane.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

God topples from the sky, hell’s fires fade:

Exit seraphim and Satan’s men:
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.

I fancied you’d return the way you said,
But I grow old and I forget your name.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

I should have loved a thunderbird instead;

At least when spring comes they roar back again.
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

Reflect upon this...!

...MiRRoR...

I am silver and exact. I have no preconceptions.
Whatever I see, I swallow immediately.
Just as it is, unmisted by love or dislike
I am not cruel, only truthful –
The eye of a little god, four-cornered.
Most of the time I meditate on the opposite wall.
It is pink, with speckles. I have looked at it so long
I think it is a part of my heart. But it flickers.
Faces and darkness separate us over and over.

Now I am a lake. A woman bends over me.
Searching my reaches for what she really is.
Then she turns to those liars, the candles or the moon.
I see her back, and reflect it faithfully
She rewards me with tears and an agitation of hands.
I am important to her. She comes and goes.
Each morning it is her face that replaces the darkness.
In me she has drowned a young girl, and in me an old woman
Rises toward her day after day, like a terrible fish.

PS: I felt the beautifully abstract, 'minimalistic' painting above was tailor-made fer this gem of a poem I wanted to share. It was done 'extempore' (that too on MS-Paint!) by my dear friend Prasidhya Sridhar. Thanks a lot fer her allowing me-moron to use it here! :-)

Sylvia Plath was a beautiful lady who wrote verse that is filled with great sensitivity & a keen observation of Life & its vagaries. Sadly, she ended her life due to depression when she was only 31. :-(

Anyway, hope you liked this poem pa..? :)

Take care, & keep REFLECTING. . . :)

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die

Life is a broken-winged bird

That cannot fly.

Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go

Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

My lit'l *D*edication ! <3 :)

Please do "feel" this video-song...(frem West-Life !)
It's a (D/M)edication fer my Lovely Loving Ones ! In fact, it is...frem every loved one to their loving one(s)..!

I feel, & I hope the lyrics say it oLL..!! :)

{You Raise Me Up. . .}

When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

There is no life - no life without its hunger;
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;

But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be...!

Silent Spectator..

Well, was resting...watched the Dasara proceedings on TV...while having Mom-made stuff at home...

Now, mommy got some leaves of the "bunny" tree--and the 4 of us @ home exchanged "GOLD"---that's how the leaves are supposed to be treated/referred

It wud've been great fun if i was in my village...with tiny gals also draped in Sarees ( & if even younger & smaller...a towel of their farmer-papa's acting as one..! ;-) Aww... )...shyly coming over to exchange these leaves..! :)

I fer one...was smiling HOW it took 6 exchanges among we 4...since it is 4-C-2...LOL..! :)
[Mom did say---"HEY Mr..where are you LOST..?? What u worried bout..?? Huh..?" ]

--------------

Oh My! "Blind" Math against "Common-sense"..! :P

Me went out n told Mom & she vehemently said it takes only 4 exchanges...
Me explained to her animated-ly & then ran to my room & produced the following programmatically (fer my satisfaction..! ):

{{Pappa, Mommy}, {Pappa, Sis}, {Pappa, meMoron},
{Mommy, Sis}, {Mommy, meMoron}, {Sis, meMoron}}

That is, I created a list of ALL 4 of us...& then generated ALL Permutations of exactly 2 elements, & removed "duplicates"...thanks to the power & compact-ness of Functional Programming...! :)

Phew !! I am a bit dizzy & she got me doubting fer a moment..!

Scepticism !!

And i gladly welcome it..! :)
{That's why, I am sometimes able to convince my Mommy-dear about the futility & stupidity of some of the things we do...! She is quite  receptive...to scepticism...which is the burden (& SEED !) of Science..! :) }

Lots of Love & ....nothing... :)

The violence of silence..!

Silence can be so Love-ly & Beautiful...if it is natural, like that of a flower, a plant, or a distant star... :)

But there are some kinds of Silence that can be so Hurt-ing...the kind that is IMPOSED...un-Naturally, against the innate nature of a person...the Silence that hides Anger, hatred or helplessness...!!

Feel the below GEM written by a sweet lady--for which I literally scoured the whole of Internet..!

I really do NOT know HOW or WHY i come across and REMEMBER such un-Common gems...

But it really expresses what I have FELT soo much SO Well...!

Love,
The boy in rags

What an advice..!

No words...to say WHAT i FeeL fer this poignant piece of Magic...frem the Nobel Laureate Pablo Neruda...

It's  a translation...from Spanish...but...but..what an idea...fer us Humans...who have made our Lives soo Complicated...n Cruel...

We need to learn so much from the birds, animals & trees...which dance & celebrate existence, love, the sun, wind & rain....while we try to use the same to divide & sow seeds of hatred amongst ourselves...!! :-/

Take care...n Take a Deep Breath...before u dip into this gem...!!!

LOVE,
The boy in rags

Keeping Quiet ( Spanish= A callarse )
by Pablo Neruda

Now we will count to twelve
and we will all keep still.

For once on the face of the earth,
let's not speak in any language;
let's stop for one second,
and not move our arms so much.

It would be an exotic moment,
without rush, without engines;
all of us would be together
in a sudden strangeness.

Fishermen in the cold sea
would not harm the whales
and the man gathering salt
would look at his hurt hands.

Those who prepare green wars,
wars with gas, wars with fire,
victories without survivors,
would put on clean clothes
and would walk about with their brothers
in the shade, doing nothing.

What I want should not be confused
with total inactivity:
Life is what it is about;
I want no truck with death.

If we were not so single minded
about keeping our lives moving,
and for once could do nothing,
perhaps a huge silence
might interrupt this sadness,
of never understanding ourselves
and of threatening ourselves with death.
Perhaps the earth can teach us
when everything seems dead
and later proves to be alive.

Now I will count up to twelve
and you keep quiet and I will go.
