Looking at our own hectic ( & yet, "empty" :-( ) lives, I sometimes ponder WHY we no Longer 'have' ANY quality leisure time to loaf & float around...to be in ALONE-ness...to reflect, to take in the nature surrounding us, etc..
We may work in offices surrounded by lush, beautifully pruned gardens, but as I noticed, people hardly have the time to EVEN take note of the riot of colors put up by the flowers, the chirping song-birds, the buzzing bees, or the lovely patterns of lit'l butterflies flitting by in the sun...! :(
We have become like programmed 'robots' (robot = Czech fer 'worker'), going through the motions for 'achieving' something that looks pretty trivial in hindsight later on...!
Hence, sharing a famous poem by William H Davies...!
L E I S U R E
What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this is if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
